ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK

One night in Bangkok and no Oyster!

(apologies to Tim Rice and the boys from ABBA .)

Having flown from Perth to Bangkok we are safely in Thai Airways Business Lounge. The last time we were in Thailand we stayed at The Merlin Beach Hotel {By Marriot} in Phuket. The Bride being somewhat of a sun Lover was extremely keen to hit the nearest sunlounge by the pool. Now those who know me well know I normally excel in researching for upcoming activities.Unfortunatly the fickle Thai weather had not come up on my searches.

For three days the routine was have buffet breakfast in the dining room as it was raining outside in alfresco area..

The Bride ever the trouper would return to our quarters do hair ,make up and don her latest bathing costume to complete a very attractive package I must say

"Max is the sun going to come out"

Carefully locking the door i quickly went poolside where it was still Bucketing down.

"should clear in a couple of hours " I offered without any conviction.

This was repeated every two or so hours for the next Three days until eventually the skies cleared on day Four. Praise The Lord!

The key to a good holiday experience is to turn a disaster into any small victory .

Enter Buddy Holly.

At The Merlin in their lounge they had had a house band .

Unusually this band had 5 lead vocals who would each get one song each on rotation .

For some reason maybe professional jealousy nobody did harmonies.

The set list must have been done on a coin toss for sure.

If i had a small speech impediment would not tackle singing and definitely avoid songs with the letter R!

And on it went It was a bit immature but we had to move to move to a more discrete location so we could giggle like schoolgirls.

Needless to say we attended every gig.
