Just watching morning telly and up pops the story about the latest English world champion.
The athlete in question is on Luke Littler newly crowned world darts champion I'm surprised until this morning I had never heard of him.
Turns out he got into the darts some 15 or so years ago.
The interviewer on ABC television was talking to some darts inficinardo and asks a really interesting question.
How did he come to be so good at such a young age was it hand eye coordination or lots of practice.

Here is Luke in action.
Obviously a very classy dresser as seen by header cover.
Research has revealed he is sponsored by Primart Seconds. It could have also have come from the Bunbury fashion store Cronshaws Bunbury Cup 1967 catalogue.
Wouldn’t believe he is just Seventeen
I am thinking he is actually a middle aged gentleman who entered a junior darts tournament a few years back for a laugh and won.
He couldn’t admit this and has continued on as a “junior prodigy”
This is akin to some immigrant kids about 6 feet tall competing in the under 10 long jump at the school sports!
Back in the day darts players had to complete a long apprenticeship meaning they didn’t peak until well into their middle years.
The reason was darts were a pub sport come pastime meaning heaps of beer had to be drunk before you had enough training under your belt to be competitive.
Another thing that I could never figure was that the scorer on the blackboard was invariably one of the mathematically challenged boy now man from my schooldays!
In a flash these scorers could add up and subtract and chalk up the remaining required scores.
They were the proto type Idiot Savant,or merely
gifted nowadays
Anyway darts was a jovial sport with only good arrows the standard barracking and that was it No fighting or arguing.
To my point the old timers were far better darts players than the newbie’s.
They didn’t have the latest technology and had to play intoxicated what legends!
I think the modern player should have to throw from a boogie board in a reasonably deep paddle pool with his direct opponent allowed to create a bit of turbulence.
Maybe the Saudis will pick this up.
